Jeremy Mclellan is an American comedian, who was visiting Pakistan for two weeks going back on 16th August. Apart from his well researched Pakistani Comedy punch lines during his shows, every one fell in love with his Social Media posts about Pakistan and the people of Pakistan. Not to forget, he looked like a totally handsome Pakistani man in those kurtas, and aunties wanted to know if he was married :p
On his last day, both the Pakistanis and Jeremy were quite emotional, here is Jeremy’s farewell speech on his last show:
Very emotional day for me. After two weeks in the country, it’s my last day here. I’ve toured two cities, sold out 6 shows, helped a dental team provide free care to 1,800 villagers, eaten 100,000 pounds of food, celebrated Pakistan Independence Day#PindiBoy style, took thousands of selfies with fans, started an online war with Indian trolls, and drove around much of this beautiful country. By the time I ended the tour, 80% of my show was stuff I wrote since I landed. What a ride.
Final show at FAST was a huge success. So many people came they had to move it to a bigger room. Load shedding interrupted the show for a few minutes so I talked to everyone in the dark. Wouldn’t be Pakistan without it!
Someone asked Sultan after the show if I write my own material. That’s such a funny question to ask a comic. Yes, I write all of my own material. That’s how it works.
Everyone introduces me to people here as a “Hollywood Celebrity.” I don’t live in Hollywood, but I’ll take it.
Since I landed in Pakistan I have gained 70,000 followers. I’m truly overwhelmed by it all. Thank you all so much.
I’m getting 1,000 messages per day on this page. If I don’t respond to yours please don’t yell and curse at me. Some of y’all need to relax.
All in all, it was the best trip I could have asked for. Everything went better than it should have, and I thank God for that. I miss home, but I can’t wait to come back. ??
