Unaiza Ali Barlas has won the Guinness Book of World record title for making the World’s longest comic strip measuring 267.38 meters. Unaiza was able to beat Suhas Palimkar from India in the category. 20 year old Cartoonist, Unaiza, wanted to do something special for Pakistan’s 70 year anniversary, and this is definitely done in style.
The comic was made at Gillani Park Lahore in March, where the measuring process was monitored and observed by officials.
The story of the comic strip revolves around a guy named Jack who wants to get out of a black box he is trapped in, however fails on multiple occasions. The story teaches us to never lose hope, instead to identify self worth and make the best out of what we have, instead of leaving everything and living in a cucoon.
A year’s hard work went into completing this task. While executing it was a challenge, from joining pieces of paper to that length to holding the paper for it to be measured, which took around 50 people, it is still the best and most innovative birthday gift Pakistan has ever gotten.
